英语演讲稿how to make a good impression:

how to make a good impression:

First impression is always the most important thing when you meet a stranger. It takes just a quick glance, maybe three seconds, for someone to understand you when you meet for the first time. In this short time, the other person forms an opinion about you based on your appearance, your manners and even your behaviours that tell them what type of person you are and your characteristics.

So, whether they are in your career or social life, it’s important to know how to create a good first impression. To make a good impression,we have to have deep confidence in

ourselves. If you are calm and confident, the other person will feel more at ease and this makes a solid foundation of a good first impression. The next thing is your appearance.Although physical appearance seems to be more important nowadays, don't get upset if you are not born pretty/handsome.Try presenting yourself appropriately, start with the way you dress.Dress for occasions, do not dress for your own mood.Make sure that you look clean and tidy as this help to make a good impression.

Well, the most important thing is a smile.“Smile and the world smiles too.” A warm and confident smile will put both you and the other person at ease. You have to look sincere and true while you are smiling. When it comes to making the first impression, body language as well as appearance speaks much louder than words. Thus, stand tall, smile (of course), make eye contact, greet with a firm handshake. All of this will help you project confidence and encourage both you and the other person feel better at ease.

Conversations should be short and sweet.Don't talk non-stop as this makes the other person bored. Try to find something common between the two of you to talk so as to keep it flowing.

How to Be Popular

most people would like to be popular with others, but not

everyone can achieve this goal. what is the secret to popularity? in fact, it is very simple. the first step is to improve our appearance. we should always make sure that we stay in good shape and dress well. when we are healthy and well-groomed, we will not only look better but also feel better. in addition, we should smile and appear

friendly. after all, our facial expression is an important part of our appearance. if we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks and impressed by our confidence.

another important step is developing more consideration for

others. we should always put others first and place their interests before our own. it's also important to be good listeners; in this way people will feel comfortable enough to confide in us. however, no matter what we do, we must not gossip. above all, we must remember to be ourselves, not phonies. only by being sincere and respectful of others can we earn their respect. if we can do all of the above, i am sure popularity will come our way.

our beautiful world

the world in which we live is a very beautiful world. about seven-tenths of the earth is water while three-tenths is land. water is “life food” of our earth.. it runs through mountains and valleys. it forms lakes and seas.

at the mouths of the rivers, fresh water joins the salt water of the sea. here at the mouth of a river, there is very important plant and animal life.

what a beautiful day: the sun is shining and the sky is so blue. the land, oceans, mountains and rivers, plants and animals„everything looks bright and gay. the sun gives us light, keeps us warm and makes things grow.

sometimes, white clouds are like ships sailing across the sky.

sometimes, the dark clouds bring us rain or snow. sometimes, after the rain, you can see a very beautiful rainbow across the sky.

at night, we can seee thousands of stars and sometimes, the big round moon. the dark skydotted with bright stars is like a picture! there is so much to see in our beautiful world.

i am chinese. i am proud of being a chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. ive learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. ive learned about the great wall and the yangtze river. ive learned about zhang heng(张衡)and ive learned about zheng he(郑和).who says the yellow river civilization has vanished(消失)?i know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇迹)on this fertile land and were still making miracles. who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our gnp ranks no. 7 in the world? we have experienced the plunders (掠夺) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----china, unyielding and unconquerable!

and a good sleeping habit is good for us , too .before we go to bed,we should drink some milk, it can help us sleep well.but i know some people always cant sleep well.i think they shouldnt, take a sleeping pill . after evening meal , they should go for

walk or have conversations with their family or listen some light music . maybe these activities can make them than sleep well.

happiness lies first of all in health .now , you must know many things about healthy lifestyle . if you want to have happy life , you should have a good eating habit , exercise every day and sleep well . so i wish everyones life is getting hathier and heathier ,happier and happier , more and more wonderful!

Change the Unchangeable

Change the unchangeable

(一)Change the unchangeable

Good morning, everyone. It’s my pleasure to deliver this speech here. The subject of my presentation is “change the unchangeable”, which means try your best to make a change when stuck in an unchangeable situation.

No wonder that there exists something unchangeable in our life, getting into the way of striving for what we want. There are plenty of unchangeable obstacles for us. They are serious and they are many. They will hardly be meet. But know this, my friends, they will be meet. Once you believe in yourself, the unchangeable is going to be changed.

Nothing is impossible, and in a sense, nothing is unchangeable! The thing absolutely unchangeable does not exist. Sometimes, adversities seems really unchangeable for the moment, but we must realize that they can be changed in some way. Moses was a stutterer, yet he was called on to be the voice of god. As we can also see in the film “The king’s speech”, stammer is unchangeable for the king, the duke of York. But once his realized that he need to make a change and inspired by the words “to be or not to be, it is a question”, he returned to the hospital, and accepted the retreatment again. With the help of the doctor Lionel Logue, he gradually made progress and managed to get over his unchangeable physical

disability.

There are endless examples. Abraham Lincoln overcome a difficult childhood, depression, the death of two sons and the constant failure seems unchangeable to become one of the greatest presidents in America. Helen Keller made an impact on the world despite being deaf, dumb, and blind from an early age.

These were the people who managed to change the unchangeable. Some of them make a change in a direct way, and others do not change the adversity unchangeable exactly, but they succeed in changing what they could do in the unchangeable situation. They changed the authoritative view the majority put on them. And this is the right way in which we can change the unchangeable.

To conclude, I appeal to all of you for doubting the unchangeable and trying to change the unchangeable.

(二)Change the unchangeable

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It is a great honor for me to be given these opportunities to deliver a speech. The subject of my presentation is change the unchangeable. One of my mottoes is “Change your thinking, change your life!” I’m a big believer that our thoughts and emotions shape our experiences. The problem is that most people aren’t aware of their negative thoughts. It’s almost like they have just become a

habit, so it seems normal to them.

You think that you are a victim. In fact, you’re not a victim. So stop blaming other people or your circumstances for your problems, just because you don’t like where you are now doesn’t mean that you can’t take personal responsibility to change it for the better. So get rid of that mentality because it doesn’t help anything. Actually, it acts as an obstacle to success. Realize that you, and only you, are responsible for your destiny.

Some things you can change. In fact, a lot of things you can change. You can lose weight. You can find a better job. You can go back to school. You can study hard. You can and you must change the unchangeable. You can’t believe that the past determines your future. Just because you came from a poor family, or made mistakes in the past does not mean that you can’t make your future better. If you have labeled yourself as a “failure” because of your past, then you will only continue your “failure” attitude into the future. And if you’re heard of the self-fulfilling prophecy phenomenon, then you know that what you think, you become. So like I said in the opening paragraph: “Change your thinking, change your life!”

In a word, you just make great effort; keep the right attitude, and believe that everything is possible if you try to do it. Change the unchangeable; your life will be better.

Change the unchangeable

When I was about 10 years old in primary school, I believed that my future would have nothing to do with two things: music and English. Now, I play my guitar nearly every day and in the near future I will be hosting an English salon.

Changing the unchangeable seemed to be a mission impossible to me at first sight, but then it dawned on me that to say whether one thing is unchangeable or not is sometimes quite a personal judgment. It might be our fear, indecisiveness or carelessness that prevent us from finding the solutions. We are just sometimes too used to the settled plans, customs and routines that we fail to come up with the idea of making changes. To change the unchangeable is just like to give a good speech on the stage that the priority is always to jump out of the box and see the things from different perspectives.

Impassioned speech

On Friday, first lady Michelle Obama gave an impassioned speech on diversity to high school graduates in Topeka, Kansas, where the landmark

Brown v. Board of Education case started.

You all are the living, breathing legacy of this case, ” Obama said. “Many districts in this country have pulled back on efforts to integrate their schools. Many communities have become less diverse."

Obama also delivered the commencement address to graduates of Dillard University in New Orleans.

“No dream is too big, no vision is too bold, " she said on May 10. "As long as we stay hungry for education and let that hunger be our North Star, there is nothing, graduates, nothing, that we cannot achieve.”

At the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Sunday, Bill Nye had a similar message for graduates: "Change the world."

Cultural globalization, which is a direct consequence of economic globalization, rids China of its closed cultural system and leads it into a multicultural society. Chinese culture is the main body of the Confucian culture as a kind of ethnic culture. However, with information and economic integration, cultural exchange warms up quickly. Meanwhile, all kinds of foreign cultures are flocking into China. Standing on the street, you can see McDonald’s and KFC everywhere. Even their passenger volumes are larger than those breakfast stores in China. Most people admit that they would rather eat KFC and don’t want to eat China classic breakfast. Maybe because it’s something new. In the same way, Japanese anime, American movies and South Korean dramas spread to Chinese university campuses, causing a sensation. Chinese students are crazy about those fresh cultures. Some even are proud of knowing better than others. As a result, domestic animation and the Chinese classic get into risks.

In this multicultural society, masses of rich and colorful ethnic cultures get together in a melting pot. These foreign cultures shock Chinese culture constantly at their different ideas and customs. In the case, how to deal with the impact of globalization and how to protect and develop Chinese traditional culture, these are hot topics which cause the high attention of policy and public opinion. Should we promote cultural integration or insist of cultural diversity?

In a period that the world is increasingly becoming one, it’s advisable for us to take an open attitude to foreign cultures. Only after we do in this way, can we catch a necessary condition for local culture of its survival and development.

As we all know, Chinese traditional culture is the spiritual and material wealth the Chinese nation ancestors created. Passing down from generation to generation, it is a distinct national characteristic of the long history of the culture. We must take in mind that our culture is the Chinese nation several thousand years civilization of crystallization. It is our superior culture, which is the other national culture can not replace. According to this, there is no possibility that we agree with cultural integration. Once ethnic cultures come into integration, our national culture will lose its unique characteristics and the ethnic superiority will also disappear. What’s more, the cultural integration makes the world culture big garden become single and boring. Therefore, Chinese culture way for the future development is bound to emphasize and inherit the national cultural essence. But this does not mean that other ethnic cultures mean nothing to us. We should make it clear that foreign cultures have essence and dregs. We should treat them quite sensibly and not extremely. To take the essence and discard the dregs, we will absorb the mankind advanced civilization achievements from foreign cultures.

All in all, opinionly, I have the idea that Chinese authorities should encourage cultural diversity. By introducing other excellent ethnic cultures, our traditional culture can be riched and developed well.

00:11All right, I want to see a show of hands: how many of you have unfriended someone onFacebookbecause they said something offensive about politics or religion, childcare, food?

00:22(Laughter)

00:24And how many of you know at least one person that you avoid because you just don't want totalk to them?

00:29(Laughter)

00:31You know, it used to be that in order to have a polite conversation, we just had to follow theadvice of Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady": Stick to the weather and your health. But these days, with climate change and anti-vaxxing, those subjects --

00:43(Laughter)

00:45are not safe either. So this world that we live in, this world in which every conversation has thepotential to devolve into an argument, where our politicians can't speak to one another andwhere even the most trivial of issues have someone fighting both passionately for it and againstit, it's not normal. Pew Research did a study of 10,000 American adults, and they found that atthis moment, we are more polarized, we are more divided, than we ever have been inhistory. We're less likely to compromise, which means we're not listening to each other. And wemake decisions about where to live, who to marry and even who our friends are going tobe, based on what we already believe. Again, that means we're not listening to each other. Aconversation requires a balance between talking and listening, and somewhere along the way,we lost that balance.

01:34Now, part of that is due to technology. The smartphones that you all either have in yourhands or close enough that you could grab them really quickly. According to PewResearch, about a third of American teenagers send more than a hundred texts a day. Andmany of them, almost most of them, are more likely to text their friends than they are to talk tothem face to face. There's this great piece in The Atlantic. It was written by a high schoolteacher named Paul Barnwell. And he gave his kids a communication project. He wanted toteach them how to speak on a specific subject without using notes. And he said this: "I came torealize..."

02:07(Laughter)

02:11"I came to realize that conversational competence might be the single most overlooked skill wefail to teach. Kids spend hours each day engaging with ideas and each other throughscreens, but rarely do they have an opportunity to hone their interpersonal communicationsskills. It might sound like a funny question, but we have to ask ourselves: Is ther

e any 21st-

century skill more important than being able to sustain coherent, confident conversation?" 02:38Now, I make my living talking to people: Nobel Prize winners, truck drivers, billionaires, kindergarten teachers, heads of state, plumbers. I talk to people that I like. I talk to people that Idon't like. I talk to some people that I disagree with deeply on a personal level. But I still have agreat conversation with them. So I'd like to spend the next 10 minutes or so teaching you how totalk and how to listen.

03:03Many of you have already heard a lot of advice on this, things like look the person in theeye, think of interesting topics to discuss in advance, look, nod and smile to show that you'repaying attention, repeat back what you just heard or summarize it. So I want you to forget all ofthat. It is crap.

03:23(Laughter)

03:26There is no reason to learn how to show you're paying attention if you are in fact payingattention.

03:34(Laughter)

03:35(Applause)

03:38Now, I actually use the exact same skills as a professional interviewer that I do in regular life. So,I'm going to teach you how to interview people, and that's actually going to help you learn howto be better conversationalists. Learn to have a conversation without wasting your time, withoutgetting bored, and, please God, without offending anybody.

03:59We've all had really great conversations. We've had them before. We know what it's like. Thekind of conversation where you walk away feeling engaged and inspired, or where you feel likeyou've made a real connection or you've been perfectly understood. There is no reason whymost of your interactions can't be like that.

04:17So I have 10 basic rules. I'm going to walk you through all of them, but honestly, if you justchoose one of them and master it, you'll already enjoy better conversations.

04:26Number one: Don't multitask. And I don't mean just set down your cell phone or your tablet oryour car keys or whatever is in your hand. I mean, be present. Be in that moment. Don't thinkabout your argument you had with your boss. Don't think about what you're going to have fordinner. If you want to get out of the conversation, get out of the conversation, but don't be halfin it and half out of it.{howto英语演讲稿}.

04:49Number two: Don't pontificate. If you want to state your opinion without any opportunity forresponse or argument or pushback or growth, write a blog.

05:01(Laughter)

05:04Now, there's a really good reason why I don't allow pundits on my show: Because they're reallyboring. If they're conservative, they're going to hate Obama and food stamps and abortion. Ifthey're liberal, they're going to hate big banks and oil corporations and Dick Cheney. Totallypredictable. And you don't want to be like that. You need to enter every conversation assumingthat you have something to learn. The famed therapist M. Scott Peck said that true listeningrequires a setting aside of oneself. And sometimes that means setting aside your personalopinion. He said that sensing this acceptance, the speaker will become less and lessvulnerable and more and more likely to open up the inner recessesof his or her mind to thelistener. Again, assume that you have something to learn. 05:51Bill Nye:

"Everyone you will ever meet knows something that you don't." I put it thisway: Everybody is an expert in something.

06:02Number three: Use open-

ended questions. In this case, take a cue from journalists. Start yourquestions with who, what, when, where, why or how. If you put in a complicated question, you'regoing to get a simple answer out. If I ask you,

"Were you terrified?" you're going to respond tothe most powerful word in that sentence, which is "terrified," and the answer is "Yes, I was" or"No, I wasn't." "Were you angry?" "Yes, I was very angry." Let them describe it. They're the onesthat know. Try asking them things like,

"What was that like?" "How did that feel?" Because thenthey might have to stop for a moment and think about it, and you're going to get a much moreinteresting response.

06:39Number four: Go with the flow. That means thoughts will come into your mind and you need tolet them go out of your mind. We've heard interviews often in which a guest is talking for severalminutes and then the host comes back in and asks a question which seems like it comes out ofnowhere, or it's already been answered. That means the host probably stopped listening twominutes ago because he thought of this really clever question, and he was just bound anddetermined to say that. And we do the exact same thing. We're sitting there having aconversation with someone, and then we remember that time that we met Hugh Jackman in acoffee shop.

07:16(Laughter)

07:17And we stop listening. Stories and ideas are going to come to you. You need to let them comeand let them go.

07:25Number five: If you don't know, say that you don't know. Now, people on the radio, especially onNPR,are much more aware that they're going on the record, and so they're more careful aboutwhat they claim to be an expert in and what they claim to know for sure. Do that. Err on the sideof caution. Talk should not be cheap.

07:45Number six: Don't equate your experience with theirs. If they're talking about having lost a familymember, don't start talking about the time you lost a family member. If they're talking about thetrouble they're having at work, don't tell them about how much you hate your job. It's not thesame. It is never the same. All experiences are individual. And, more importantly, it is not aboutyou. You don't need to take that moment to prove how amazing you are or how much you'vesuffered. Somebody asked Stephen Hawking once what his IQ was, and he said, "I have noidea. People who brag about their IQs are losers." 08:20(Laughter)

08:22Conversations are not a promotional opportunity.

08:27Number seven: Try not to repeat yourself. It's condescending, and it's really boring, and wetend to do it a lot. Especially in work conversations or in conversations with our kids, we have apoint to make, so we just keep rephrasing it over and over. Don't do that. 08:45Number eight: Stay out of the weeds. Frankly, people don't care about the years, thenames, the dates, all those details that you're struggling to come up with in your mind. Theydon't care. What they care about is you. They care about what you're like, what you have incommon. So forget the details. Leave them out.

09:07Number nine: This is not the last one, but it is the most important one. Listen. I cannot tell youhow many really important people have said that listening is perhaps the most, the number onemost important skill that you could develop. Buddha said, and I'm paraphrasing, "If your mouthis open, you're not learning." And Calvin Coolidge said,

"No man ever listened his way out of ajob."

09:31(Laughter)

09:33Why do we not listen to each other? Number one, we'd rather talk. When I'm talking, I'm incontrol. I don't have to hear anything I'm not interested in. I'm the center of attention. I canbolster my own identity. But there's another reason: We get distracted. The average persontalks at about 225 word per minute, but we can listen at up to 500 words per minute. So ourminds are filling in those other 275 words. And look, I know, it takes effort and energy to actuallypay attention to someone, but if you can't do that, you're not in a conversation. You're just twopeople shouting out barely related sentences in the same place. 10:13(Laughter)

10:15You have to listen to one another. Stephen Covey said it very beautifully. He said, "Most of usdon't listen with the intent to understand. We listen with the intent to reply." 10:27One more rule, number 10, and it's this one: Be brief.

10:31[A good conversation is like a miniskirt; short enough to retain interest, but long enough tocover the subject. -- My Sister]

10:37(Laughter)

10:39(Applause) All of this boils down to the same basic concept, and it is this one: Be interested inother people.

10:49You know, I grew up with a very famous grandfather, and there was kind of a ritual in myhome. People would come over to talk to my grandparents, and after they would leave, mymother would come over to us, and she'd say,{howto英语演讲稿}.

"Do you know who that was? She was therunner-

up to Miss America. He was the mayor of Sacramento. She won a Pulitzer Prize. He's aRussian ballet dancer." And I kind of grew up assuming everyone has some hidden, amazingthing about them. And honestly, I think it's what makes me a better host. I keep my mouth shutas often as I possibly can, I keep my mind open, and I'm always prepared to be amazed, and I'mnever disappointed.

11:27You do the same thing. Go out, talk to people, listen to people, and, most importantly, beprepared to be amazed.

11:37Thanks.

11:38(Applause)

2. How to make my class active and interactive?

Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Wang Qingmei. I‘m from BaoFang BaoXian primary school. It‘s my turn to give a speech. Today, I‘m very happy to be here and it‘s my honor to have such an opportunity to take part in the contest. My topic is ―how to make my class active and interactive‖.

There is a Chinese proverb, saying that ―a good beginning is half done. ‖ So as an English teacher, you should make your class active and interactive as possible as you can in the beginning. In that way you might have succeeded in half in the following teaching. So how to make my class active and interactive? ---- My ideas are the following.

Firstly, as a teacher, especially an English teacher, when you enter the classroom, you should keep smiling and get ready to be energetic, emotional and active. And don‘t forget that only in this way can you have the authority to demand your pupils to be energetic, emotional and active.

Secondly, Albert Einstein says that interest is the best teacher. From what he says, we know that it‘s very important to make our class active. Moreover, we know in primary school the children are curious and active. English is a rather new subject and also a new language. It‘s close to us but sometimes we

feel far from it. That‘s what we call ―mysteries‖. Therefore we should catch the students‘ interest. We can use multimedia teaching equipments and do a lot of games and activities, such as pair work,

competitions, role play, guessing games, TPR activities and so on. It can enable the students to

participate in class. But no matter which way we use, we should often change it. Once the students‘ interest in learning is stimulated, the class atmosphere will be active naturally.

Thirdly, we should make use of body language properly, which is a good way to attract the students‘ attention. We should use some facial features and gestures to make the class active. Our behaviors and voice should exaggerate so that the students will pay more attention to our class.

Above all, we should prepare lessons adequately. At the beginning of the class, we should create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We can start a lesson with a song as the children like songs. When they sing, they will feel very happy and excited. They can follow the music to clap and sing the song. It‘s natural to put the students into the learning environment. Only in this way can the following class be active and interactive. Then we can use chant to activate the classroom‘s atmosphere too. We can add new words, phrases and sentences in the chant. When the students read the chant, they practice the new contents at the same time.

What I have mentioned above makes my class active and interactive. And I hope it can work in your class. That‘s all. Thank you for your attention!

5. Say something about your first English class you taught in your teaching life.

First of all,you can introduce yourself to your students. wirte down your name and contacts on the blakboard. remember to be lovely and passionate also professional. Secondly, distribute the a lovery card

其次,分发一个共同卡 for your each student and let them write down thier name and hobbies family etc or you can let them hands up to introduce themselves for you one by one(It may take some more time). Thirdly, prepare some english questoins. but easy ones. Like what do you like to do? who do you love most? how do you spend your vacation? what's your favourate songs or stars?..... you can ask them hands up and answer your questions which can improve thier positivity and also test thier english level. At the same time, you can let your students ask you question whatever they like. This kind of interaction can improve each other's understanding ang increase your emotions between you and your students.

After doing these things above, the first class is almost over.

Remeber what the most important thing is having a good relationship with them and you like each other. then the effciency for learning and teaching will be increased.

Thanks ang good luck.

Hope you can choose me to be your best answer.
